London Protest in Support of Day of Sufi and protesting Human Rights Violations in Iran

Insideofiran/2011-02-21 - The International Organization to Preserve Human Rights in Iran along side "The International Committee in Support of The Rights of Sufis & Students in Iran", gathered in Trafalgar Square, London and Hyde Park ‘Speakers Corner’in London on Sunday 20th February 2011 ( 1st Esfand 1389) for ‘Sufi Day’ 22nd Feb ( 3rd Esfand 1389) in order raise public awareness of repression and injustices suuffered by Sufis  under the dictatorship regime of Iran. They held pictures  showing how the Sufis’ ‘House of Worship’ have been demolished by the Iranian Authorities in the past 5 years,and how the lawyer's defending the rights of Sufis' in Iran have been Imprisoned.

 

Also on this day there was three year anniversary of destruction of one of the Gonabadi Sufis 'house of worship'  in Isfahan, which was destroyed by the Iranian authorities . This house of worship was located next to the tomb of the great poet and dervish Naser Ali at the historical Takht-e Foulad cemetery .

During the same day in solidarity with Iranians in Iran fighting for freedom and democracy , The International Organization to Preserve Human Rights in Iran, and "The International Committee in Support of The Rights of Sufis & Students in Iran" together with  London Green Movement “Green Wave Voice” along with other opposition groups gathered In front of the Iranian Embassy, in protest and in remembrance of the death of two young demonstrators on 14th February, who were killed by the Iranian Basij force.
