Nour Ali Tabandeh the Grand Master of the Neymatallah Sufi, who is well known for his antirevolutionary views, used his message following the death of Ayatollah Monatzeri as means of exploiting the death of the Ayatollah for his own benefits.

It is interesting to note that this message illustrated the depth of Nour Ali Tabandeh’s liberal views and goes to show that he is simply a member of national freedom organisation clothed in a Sufi cloak and is thus an enemy of the revolution

In part of his message of condolences he stresses that he considers that all special clothes or attention seeking behaviour as obstacle to spiritual evolution. However, it’s strange that this Grand Sufi master considers special dress or attention seeking behaviour as an obstacle to spiritual evolution but does not see having a large moustache as an attention seeking behaviour and equally an obstacle to spiritual progress.

Even stranger than this is the statements of Seyed Mustafa Azmayesh who is also member of this Sufi order and is also spy for French interior ministry.

It is strange to see someone like Azmayesh send a message of condolences on occasion of Ayatollah Montazeri when he is in fact the biggest enemy of Shiite orthodoxy and is someone whose wife does not even wear a veil and thus does not obey religious law. He himself also appears in person amongst an all female spiritual music group called Simorgh.

Anyways, it interesting to see that someone who is enemy of revolution uses any occasion to express his dissatisfaction of political affairs of country and yet when people stand up to them and challenges them they simply say Sufis are non political group and are purely spiritual group,
