Recently Mr Montazeri stated that Ayatollah Khomeini was in fact powerless and not in charge of the country during his last 2 years, and the decisions were made by others in his name. If on occasions it was necessary to show written and signed authority on behalf of Khomeini his son would sign in his place. In fact when Mr Pour Mohammadi went to Mr Montazeri armed with an order to execute 700 people; he simply told Mr Montazeri that the Ayatollah Khomeini had also approved the execution order. Faced with this news Mr Montazeri asked that his objection to the order be written into the records.

Chairman Mao also during his last four years was also kept alive under similar circumstances and the same goes for Yugoslavia ’s Marshal Tito who was kept alive under similar arrangement so that the country would not undergo civil war and split longest ethnic lines. Today we read that Hashemi Rafsanjani has stated that all should stand being Khameni because should he be removed the country will become split and lose its unity. Hassan Rohani has also warned about country been torn into pieces. However, Rafsanjani has gone further and has stated that he has told Khameni himself that only he can save this ship from sinking and everyone should be behind Khameni’s leadership, and has placed all the responsibility for preserving country’s unity on Khameni’s shoulders.

But what happens if Khameni no longer present?

One thing is certain that majority of the guardian council are followers of Ahmed Gennati who was for years head of Hezbollah and the violent louts who used strong armed tactics to put down any signs of opposition to established order of the country. However, Gennati has now changed his uniform and hides behind his civilian clothes. But still people know that he is behind all the key decisions and programs that the Guardian council carries out. All the political decisions and episodes during recent elections which were responsible for Ahmedinejad winning the election and the subsequent crack down on protests were all controlled and carried out as results of decisions made by this council. As the saying goes “all roads lead and end at the Guardian council’s doors”. The Guardian council also put itself in charge of deciding what is best for the country. It also placed the council of experts which was under the control of Rafsanjani under its own control. So in summary, this council if it sees fit it will remove the authority of any administrative body that opposes it’s will and places it under its own control. So the Guardian council is the master mind behind all of the plans and tactics that are used to suppress the will of the people and governs the country by force. This has been its mission for a while. In fact during Khatemi’s presidency it was this council under the Gennati’s leadership that ordered the cruel attack on universities and its students. Furthermore, Gennati’s leadership of this council has been renewed for another term.

The Guardian council has centralised all power under its own control. It has complete power, and controls the powerful Khameni’s martyrs group. Moreover, the country’s Security Council, the council of experts, and the council responsible for making strategic decision for the country are all in effect powerless bodies in comparison. All power is in effect under control of Guardian council which is led by Gennati. The religious clerical committee as well political council are also connected to the Guardian council and thus take their lead from this all powerful council.

Imami Kashani of Quom in his speech made it unfortunately quiet clear that Valyat Fageeh (this is idea that Imam’s representatives are only legitimate source of power and only they can act on his behalf during his absence until his return) can not by itself be solution and the second coming of the twelfth Imam is necessary so that he himself takes charge of the country. This speech was in contrast to the views held by Genntai and for this reason Imami Kashani was removed from his post as prayer leader of Tehran and was sent to Arak . Since the revolution there have been 4 main prayer leaders of Tehran and by removal of Imami Kashani from his post Gennati removed his biggest opponent amongst the clerics and clerical schools in Tehran .

From another point of view, since the recent elections Rafsanjani has been under consistent pressure and he has lost his access to power which goes to show that his enemies have complete control of all security and political matters within the country.

But who is this enemy?

It is clear that when one discovers the identity of this enemy he will also discover who controls the powerful forces within the country. A detail study of events since the end of Khatemi presidency to present day reveals that the person who is most responsible for forcing Rafsanjani from seat of power is none other than Mesbah Yazdi. In fact in his recent speech Yazdi clearly states that during 8 years of Khatemi presidency, Khatemi himself and those around him were in effect puppets of Rafsanjani. He also stated that people like Rafsanjani are source of disgrace to the clerical robes and it would be better if he would not be allowed to wear clerical robes.

From this speech is evident that Yazdi with use of a very detailed and long term plan set about to remove Rafsanjani from seat of power long before the recent events. His long term plan was financed by special budgets set a side during first terms of Ahmrdinejad’s presidency. As part of this plan he was able to side step the Sepah Pasderan (revolutionary guards) who were supporters of Rafsanjani by creating a totally independent security force named Political Guides (Hadiyan Seyasi) who reported directly to him in guise that they were dedicated supporters of Khameni. He also created plane clothes security forces called Basejis who are responsible for using strong arm tactics against any form of opposition.

The Guardian council in their last meeting clearly disqualified itself from nominating future religious leader of the country in event of Khameni’s death. It clearly demonstrated that the pressure which it placed on Rafsanjani in order to remove him from leadership of Council of Experts is because they are afraid that after Khameni, Rafsanjani would use his position as the leader of the Council of Experts to either nominate himself, or a chose a person who supports his cause, as the supreme religious leader of Iran.

We know from the action of security forces within the country’s political bodies that these actions have been directed by Mesbah Yazdi. This shows that the Hadiyan Seyasi is a strong force within the country with an ideology that is inline with Yazdi personal agenda. The Hadiyan Seyasi currently holds all the key cards and is in charge of country’s overall security. The extent of this group’s power becomes evident when we consider that person such as Mohsein Rezai who has had long career within the revolutionary guards has been totally sidestepped and is no longer part of the chain of power with the country.  In fact treatments of most of the official and nonofficial prisoners who have been held are in the hands of this group and not in the control of information ministry, judiciary or prosecution service.

The Hadiyan Seyasi has its own internal information ministry (or intelligence service) which is totally independent from the nation’s intelligence service. The majority members of this group together with the Basijis are students of Mesbah Yazdi and his ideology who have in turn during past years managed to engineer together with the Guardian council Ahmedinejad’s rise to power and make him president of the country. By achieving this they have been able to gain access to vast funds which they can use to further propagate their strategies.  It’s their aim to stay in power by propagating their claiming to be the only the representative of twelfth Imam, which according to them allows them to be the only legitimate form of government, until the return of the twelfth Imam. In his last speech Yazdi made it clear that people and constitutional law are irrelevant in an Islamic government, and only the representatives of the twelfth Imam have legitimate right to power.

On a recent Friday prayer meeting Genntai draw his old line in the same vain as Ahmed Khatemi recent speech that the judiciary should take a hard line on any form of opposition or unrest that the losers of the recent election create within the country.

So everyone is loser in this process except those who have engineered the election and hold the chains of power. This is the coup that a year go Ali Akbar Mohtashami Pour warned about, and Mosavi and Karobi were forced out during round one of this Coup. The victims of the second round will be Hashemi and Khameni even though there are still in power in name only. Ahmedinejad will also be eliminated in the final round by being silenced and forced into a corner. However, Ahmedinejad is trying to keep himself happy by the fact that he has the support of Mashaie and is hanging his hat on trying to use Obama to resolve Iran ’s nuclear issue with United States . But the Mesbah Yazdi’s line connects to Russia and Russia ’s support for the regime and through this he has complete control of power within Iran
